EPISODE 30 – How to Make 2023 THE Year You Live Larger

From this episode, we’re changing things up a bit with a short, written version of what’s in the podcast. So whether you prefer to listen or read, we’ve got you covered this week and moving forward!

Welcome to 2023! It’s a new year, a new beginning, and a perfect opportunity to make this year the one in which you truly live larger. But what does it mean to live larger? For some, it might mean achieving big career goals or financial success. For others, it might mean traveling to new places, trying new things, or simply finding more joy and fulfillment in their daily lives. No matter what living larger means to you, here are ten key things you can focus on to make this year your best yet:

Decide: Decide that this year is different and also clarify WHY it is different. How are you going to make this year extra special and stand out as a monumental gamechanging year in your life? What – if anything – do you want to dedicate this year to? Is there just one thing or area you want t focus on or are there are few different things you want to master or achieve this year? Once you’ve clarified this, I recommend that you give this year a name.

1: Set clear and achievable goals: One of the most important steps in living a larger life is setting clear goals for yourself. These goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound, or SMART. This means that your goals should be well-defined and easy to track, as well as being realistic and achievable given your current circumstances. When setting your goals, be sure to consider what truly matters to you and what you want to achieve in the long term, rather than just focusing on short-term gains.

2: Identify and overcome obstacles: No matter how carefully you plan, there will always be obstacles and challenges standing in your way. It’s important to identify these obstacles early on and develop strategies to overcome them. This might mean seeking out resources or support, finding new ways to solve problems, or simply being more resilient and adaptable. Remember that obstacles are simply a natural part of the journey towards living a larger life, and they can often be turned into opportunities for growth and learning.

3: Take care of your physical health: Your physical health is an essential foundation for living a larger life. After all, if you’re not feeling your best, it can be difficult to pursue your goals and enjoy all that life has to offer. Make sure you’re eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. This will help you maintain your energy levels, focus, and overall well-being.

4: Cultivate healthy relationships: The people you surround yourself with can have a big impact on your ability to live a larger life. Seek out positive, supportive relationships with people who encourage and motivate you to be your best. These might be friends, family, colleagues, or mentors. At the same time, be mindful of any toxic relationships that might be holding you back and work to either improve or eliminate them.

5: Learn new skills: In order to live a larger life, you need to be constantly learning and growing. This might mean pursuing formal education or training, or simply seeking out new learning opportunities on your own. By expanding your knowledge and capabilities, you’ll be better equipped to pursue your goals and take on new challenges.

6: Take risks and embrace change: Change can be scary, but it’s also an essential part of living a larger life. Be willing to take calculated risks and embrace new opportunities as they come your way. This might mean taking a chance on a new job, starting a business, or simply trying something new. By stepping out of your comfort zone, you’ll be able to grow and learn in ways you never could have imagined.

7: Practice gratitude: It’s easy to get caught up in the stress and negativity of daily life, but focusing on the positive aspects of your life can make a big difference in your overall happiness and well-being. Make a habit of regularly practicing gratitude by writing down or sharing the things you’re grateful for. This can help you cultivate a more positive and productive mindset, which is essential for living a larger life.

8: Find your purpose: Living a larger life means more than just achieving external goals and accomplishments. It also involves finding and living according to your purpose or passion. Take some time to reflect on what truly matters to you and what gives your life meaning and purpose. This might involve identifying your values, interests, and strengths, and finding ways to align your actions with these. By living according to your purpose, you’ll be able to find more fulfillment and happiness in your daily life.

9: Practice self-care: It’s important to prioritise self-care in order to live a larger life. This means making time for activities that nourish your mind, body, heart and soul. This might involve things like exercising, meditating, spending time with loved ones, or simply taking a break from the demands of daily life. By taking care of yourself, you’ll be better able to pursue your goals and live a more vibrant and productive life.

10: Take action: Finally, the most important step in living a larger life is taking consistent and persistent action towards achieving your goals. This means setting aside time to work towards your goals on a regular basis, and being proactive in seeking out opportunities and resources to help you get there. Remember that living a larger life is a journey, and it requires dedication, hard work, and a willingness to take chances and embrace change.

By focusing on these ten key things, you can make 2023 the year you truly live larger.
